This is the story
of a very sad Sunbeam Tiger known as TXJ 7
Well where
does it begin
Above is the engine of this sad car 260cu with a list
of problems
Clutch just removed from engine with further problem
made visible flywheel badly scored and heat cracked
Clutch pressure plate in bad signs of wear heat cracks
and scored, centre plate through to rivets
Gearbox belhousing sprayed with debris from clutch
and oil from main seal of gearbox
With new 289cu 6 bolt block obtained and after machining
it was time to strip off the old colour of red. As
can be seen the bores have been machined as well as
the follower gallery which included deburring of any
old casting flashings.The now defunked block can be
seen in the background on the floor.
